Obituary

H. Winifred (Winnie) Marshall, age 92, of Washington died Sunday June 13, 2010 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following declining health.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 am Friday June 18, 2010 at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm Thursday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established to the United Presbyterian Home and the United Presbyterian Church. Winnie was born on December 31, 1917 in rural Jacksonville, Illinois the daughter of Allan G. and Alice (Irlam) Russel. She graduated from high school in Alton, Illinois. Winnie was united in marriage to Ralph Eldwin Marshall Jr. on January 18, 1941 in Alton, Iowa. She grew up in Alton, Illinois, after the war moved to Wilton Junction, Iowa, and moved to Washington, Iowa in 1954. Prior to her marriage she worked for Miller's Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Illinois and later was a homemaker. Winnie was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and TTT. She was active in the Y Women, liked playing Bridge, and enjoyed her family.

Winnie is survived by her daughter, Judy Anne Driscoll and husband Gene of Washington; son, James D. Marshall of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Jane Alice Little of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Michael Driscoll and wife Michelle of Washington; Darcy Morter and husband Andy of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; Sarah Teller and husband Mike of New Berlin, Wisconsin; Emily Troyk and husband Erik of Wawautosa, Wisconsin; and Elizabeth Little of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; and seven great grandchildren, Mitchell and Macy Driscoll; Tucker and Maggie Morter; Alex Teller; Logan and Ryan Troyk..

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2002; one grandson, David Driscoll in 1984; and one sister, Elizabeth Johnson.
