Wilma M. Harbison, age 83, of Washington, formerly of Brighton, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Halcyon House following a short illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Jamie Mogler officiating. Visitation will begin 12:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Wilma was born September 5, 1927 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Royal and Flossie (Thompson) Robertson. She graduated from Washington High School. On February 2, 1946 Wilma was united in marriage to Carl Harbison. Wilma lived all of her adult life in the Brighton area and helped her husband with the family farm operation. Wilma enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting, embroidery and birds.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Harbison and wife Lona of Brighton, Iowa; son, Don Harbison and wife Sharon of Brighton, Iowa; son, Wayne Harbison and wife Janis of DeWitt, Iowa; daughter, Linda Harrison of Tyler, Texas; son, Denny Harbison of Lockridge, Iowa; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl in 1997; and two sisters, Mamie Gayle and Neva Jean.
