William Earl Stout, age 81, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Friday June 2, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Ainsworth Community Church with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9th, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. A general memorial has been established. Bill was born August 5, 1941, in West Chester, Iowa, the son of George L. Sr. and Mildred Gladys (Gorsh) Stout. He graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1960. Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy Wulf on August 8, 1958, in Fairfield, Iowa.
He lived his entire life in the Ainsworth Community where he proudly farmed with his dad and his brother George for many years. Bill previously worked at International Harvester in Washington and Heatilator in Mt. Pleasant. After the invention of Elasto Gel, Bill sold Elasto Gel products for his brother, Dr. Ed Stout.
Bill was a man of Faith and enjoyed his weekly Bible Study Group. He was a member of the Ainsworth Lions Club and the Skirts and Shirts Square Dance Club. He liked playing Free Cell on his computer and enjoyed traveling with his wife on many HUGS trips. He especially enjoyed his family and attending his kids and grandkids events.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Ainsworth, Iowa; daughter, Delores Hansen of Washington, Iowa; daughter Janene Kirk of Ainsworth, Iowa; grandchildren: Miranda Hansen, Ethan Hansen and fiancé Taylor Brundage, Shalyn Kirk and fiancé Taylor Handrahan, Ashley Stout and wife Ana, Joshalyn Loutsch and husband Eric, Amy Vittetoe and husband Josh, Brittany Burnham and husband Drew, and Clint Stout and wife Jenny. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son Keith in 2002; son Phil in 2015; one great granddaughter, Baker Loutsch in 2018; and six siblings: David, George and Ed Stout, Millie McCreedy, Virginia Stout and Louise Frakes.
