William "Bill" Lloyd Jr., age 79, of Washington died Thursday January 21, 2010 at Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday January 25, 2010 at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Gene Carpenter officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A general memorial has been established. Bill was born on January 11, 1931 in Sigourney, Iowa the son of William C. and Elma (Hubbs) Lloyd Sr. He attended school in Washington where he graduated from high school in 1949. Bill was united in marriage to Edith Hurley on February 22, 1958 in Muscatine, Iowa. Bill was a life long resident of Washington. He worked for River Products for 30 years and retired in 1995. He served in the National Guard for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Bill is survived by his wife, Edith Lloyd of Washington; son, Tony Lloyd and wife Robin of Washington; son, Calvin Lloyd of Washington; son, Mike Lloyd and wife Lisa of Ainsworth; nine grandchildren, Jessica Murray, Jeremy Lloyd, Brandon Lloyd, Tanja Lloyd, Clae Lloyd, Kailah Lloyd, Brittany Lloyd, David Lloyd, and Hailey Lloyd; and one brother, Bobby Lloyd of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
