William "Bill" J. Casey, age 91, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Washington County Hospital.

Graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Elm Grove Cemetery with Father Bernie Weir officiating. General calling hours will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Bill was born December 15, 1931 in Washington, Iowa, son of Frank and Pearl (Schrack) Casey. He graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Iowa. Bill served honorably in the United States Airforce from 1951 – 1955. He was an employee of McCleery Cummings calendar factory for many years.

Bill loved to draw cartoons and share them with family and friends. He enjoyed researching the history of Washington, Iowa and was a daily visitor of the Washington Public Library. Bill lived at Hanson Apartments for many years and took pride in maintaining the property. He enjoyed walking downtown and having coffee with friends. Bill was a a member of the Washington Golf and Country Club and St. James Catholic Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jane Casey.
