William E. "Bill" Lewis, age 85, of Lone Tree, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Aspire of Washington following a short illness.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. Bill was born May 30, 1937, in Washington, Iowa, the son of William Elroy and Olive Marie (Coon) Lewis. He attended country school through eighth grade and graduated from Ainsworth High School. William was united in marriage to Theone Groff in 1964 in Wellman, Iowa. They later divorced. He later married Kathleen O'Haver.

Bill farmed and was a bookkeeper for Yoder Feeds. He sold feed for English River Pellets and then owned and operated Bill's Conoco in Riverside for 16 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making hand-made knives and watching westerns.

He is survived by son, Tim Lewis and fiancé Annie of Iowa City, Iowa; son, John (Carolyn) Lewis of Parnell, Iowa; step-son Brian (Melissa) Walters of Fairfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Madelyn and Derek Lewis; Katlyn and Colton Lewis, and Rose, Hayden, Sophia and Kylie Walters; former wife and caretaker, Kathleen Lewis of Lone Tree, Iowa; and brother-in-law, Robert Litton of Iowa City, Iowa.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Reta Kay Litton; sister, Lucille Frame; aunt, Eula Mae Coon; and uncle Everette Coon.
