Virginia M. Finke, age 93, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home and from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Friday. Virginia was born July 17, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Marguerite (Fitzgibbons) Utterback. Virginia graduated from high school in Iowa City, Iowa, and received her teaching certificated from Washington Jr. College in Washington, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Everette Roy Finke on September 4, 1948, in Washington, Iowa.

Prior to her marriage, Virginia taught country school in the Ainsworth area. Following her marriage, the couple moved to Pella, Iowa, later returning to Washington. She was a Librarian at the Washington Public Library for many years. Virginia enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by two sons, John Finke of Houston, Texas; and David Finke of Washington, Iowa; as well as one niece, Mary Ellen Chudacek and one nephew, William Chudacek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; and one sister, Betty Chudacek.
