Victoria was born February 12, 1920 in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of George and Martha (Davis) Canott. Victoria loved sharing with many that her mother was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to the U.S. aboard the Lusitania on its final western voyage across the Atlantic. She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1937 and from the Burlington College of Commerce. Victoria married David Griffith on June 12, 1942 in Washington, Iowa.
Victoria worked at an insurance office in Burlington and the Earl May Store in Washington. Later in life she worked in the dietary department at Washington County Hospital. She was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville, Republican Women and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her real joy came from raising her family and her volunteer service. Over the years she taught Sunday and Bible School classes, served as a 4-H and American Junior Auxiliary Leader and received the Governor's Volunteer Award for her service.
