Thomas Doyle "Tom" McKeone, age 78, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at his residence following a sudden illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Dr. Dan McClure officiating. Visitation will begin noon Saturday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Interment with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Tom was born September 9, 1935 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Bernard Joseph and Mary Charlotte (Finke) McKeone. He attended school in Washington, Iowa, graduating from Washington High School in 1954. Tom was united in marriage to Cathy Hill in May of 1988. He was previously married to Sheryl Hunsaker. .
Tom lived most of his life in Washington, Iowa. He worked as a long distance truck driver all of his life. His travels allowed him to visit all states except Alaska and Hawaii. Tom enjoyed traveling and being outdoors. He treasured spending time with his family and his constant companion, his dog, Spot.

Tom is survived by his son, Tom McKeone and wife Alexandra of Austin, Texas; son Jim McKeone and wife Medea of Iowa City, Iowa; daughter, Candace Moore of Coralville, Iowa; daughter, Carla Robertson and husband Ron of Washington, Iowa; grandchildren, Alyssa, Allyson and Abigail McKeone, Anna Barthelman, Chris Hummer, Emily Millhollin, Angie Kruse and Michelle Robertson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cathy; one son, Michael McKeone and one daughter, Charlotte McKeone.
