Thomas Joseph Knott, age 72, of Morning Sun, Iowa, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Morning Sun Care Center after a short illness.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 unitl 10:30 Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Thomas Joseph Knott was born September 22, 1948, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of John Melvin and Roberta (Lynn) Knott. He attended school in Washington, Iowa graduating from High School in 1967.

Following high school Tom worked at McCleery Cumming Company for many years until its closing. He later worked in the Maintenance Department at the University of Iowa for a short time and lastly at Pizza Hut in Washington, Iowa.

Tom is survived by two children: Jacob and Katrina Knott; six grandchildren; mother, Roberta Lynn Knott Lenninger of Washington, Iowa; sister, Linda (Dale) Creeley of Brandon, Vermont; sister, Joanne (Wayne) Chalupa of Washington, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, John Knott; brother, Harry Knott; and a nephew, Christopher Gerot.
