Sylvia Ann Longer, age 75, of Washington, Iowa, died on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Harvest Acres Nursing Home in Keota.

Sylvia was born on September 30, 1950, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Grace Octavia (McCabe) Longer. She graduated from Washington High School in 1968 and attended the University of Iowa. Sylvia was a homemaker and took care of her parents. She also had a love for cats.

She is survived by two cousins, Randy Payne and Rose Furgason, both of Washington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
