Simon Lowe, age 85, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at All American Care Center in Washington, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa, with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Simon's family through the web at

Simon was born July 18, 1929, in Cranston, Iowa, the son of LaFayette Lincoln and Edith Pearl (Chance) Lowe. He attended school in Rubio, Iowa, and graduated from Farson High School. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He and his brother, David farmed and later worked at Elm Grove Cemetery and provided lawn mowing service in Washingotn. Simon was honored to participate in the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight traveling to Washington D.C. in September of 2012. He enjoyed collecting coins and loved animals.
He is survived by a great aunt, a number of cousins and friends.
Simon was preceded in death by his parents LaFayette and Edith; his brother, David Lowe, and an infant brother, Leo.
