Shirley Ann (Kimmel) Charbonneau age 89, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Parkview Home in Wayland.

Shirley was born on December 4, 1936, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Fern (Hysell) Kimmel. She attended school in Washington, Iowa.

Shirley lived in Wellman, Kalona, Washington, and Wayland, Iowa. She worked as a Dietary Supervisor for the University of Iowa for 40 years until her retirement in 2005.

She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye sports fan and loved collecting and organizing her knick knacks. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed anything related to Mickey Mouse, butterflies or squirrels. Shirley enjoyed being outside and working in her yard. Shirley especially enjoyed her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She is survived by her brother, Fred Kimmel of Perry, Iowa; sister, Debby Watson of Muscatine, Iowa; 10 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews; and 57 great great nieces and nephews, with two more on the way.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Latcham; infant sister, Linda; brother-in-law, Ward Latcham; sister-in-law, JoAnn Kimmel; niece Kim Latcham; and great great niece, Makayla Richardson Dusenbery.
