Obituary

Shirley E. Hahn, age 74, of Washington, Iowa died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington following a lengthy illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, March 10th at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Visitation will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 Tuesday evening. Interment will take place at Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, Iowa at a later date. Memorials have been established for the First Baptist Church, Lending Hands, Washington County Hospice or the M.L. Shirley was born February 26, 1936 in Unionville, Missouri the daughter of Lloyd and Dovie (Ruggles) Bradshaw. She attended grade school in Wellman, Iowa and graduated from Washington High School. Shirley was married to Ronald Hahn Sr. in 1954. They were later divorced. She lived in Jefferson and Henry Counties with her long time friend Edgar Franklin.

Shirley worked at Advanced Ross Auto and also as a home health care worker. She worked at the United Presbyterian Home as an Aide and assisted Edgar in his salvage business for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington, and was a former member of the Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Iowa. She attended Lending Hands and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and crocheting.

She is survived by six children including daughter Cathy Lomen and husband Brian of Washington, Iowa; daughter Crystal Davis and husband Patrick of Washington, Iowa; son Randy Hahn and wife Chris of Delmar, Iowa; son Tony Hahn and wife Janet of Hooppole, Illinois; son Ron "Nick" Hahn Jr. and wife Karen of Washington, Iowa; son John Hahn and wife Indah of Wayland, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Hazel Johnson of Washington, Iowa and Nancy Schoonover of Pekin, Illinois.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, special friend Edgar Franklin, one son Paul Hahn, one granddaughter Amanda Lou Hahn, Brother Hollis "Doc" Bradshaw, two sisters Ruth Dunston and Betty Green and an infant brother.
