Sharon Kay Redlinger, age 73, of Washington, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at her residence following a fifteen year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with Father Troy Richmond officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Catholic Daughters Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. followed by prayer services. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established to Hospice of Washington County or St. James Catholic Church. Sharon was born April 27, 1938 in Brighton, Iowa the daughter of Leonard and Genevieve (Kurtz) Fritz. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1956. Sharon was united in marriage to Bob Redlinger on September 15, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, Iowa. She worked for Washington County Public Health for many years. She later provided independent home health care until her retirement.
Sharon was a member of St. James Parish in Washington and was a member of Catholic Daughters. Sharon enjoyed collecting angels and gardening. She especially enjoyed her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband Bob; son John and wife Cyndi; daughter Julie Ross and husband Jim; daughter Deb Turner and husband Steve; son Tim and wife Kerrie, all of Washington; daughter Tina Schweitzer and husband Gerry of Des Moines; fifteen grandchildren; sister Jean Bates; brother Larry Fritz and wife Pat of Washington; and brother Gary Fritz and wife Arlene of Brighton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
