Obituary

Sharon Lee Klunk, age 84, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Port Washington, Wisconsin; Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Grand Island, Florida; died Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the United Presbyterian Home.

Sharon was born March 19, 1938, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Edward and Eileen (Young) Hardiek. She graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Wayne in 1956 and then received her nursing degree from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Sharon was united in marriage to Robert Gustav Klunk on January 2, 1959, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Sharon lived most of her life in Union Grove and Port Washington, Wisconsin. She moved to Washington in June of 2020 to be with her daughter. She was a Registered Nurse at Baxter Memorial Hospital in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Sharon loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling abroad together with her husband, singing and spending time with her grandkids. She had a sharp wit and very kind heart. Family was the most important thing to her. While she is at peace with her Savior she will be so greatly missed by those she left behind.

She is survived by her son, John Klunk of Port Washington, Wisconsin; daughter, Marcy Stanford and husband Ebon of Washington, Iowa; son, Kurt Klunk and wife Sarah of Burlington, Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren, Brendan Stanford (wife Jaleesa), Matthew Stanford, Reuben Stanford, Cory Klunk and Colton Klunk; 3 great grandchildren, Emery and Myra Stanford and Barrett Stanford; brother, Dave Hardiek and wife Karen of Algoma, Indiana; sister, Brenda McCart of Wolf Lake, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter-in-law, Christine Klunk; sister, Linda Pick; and brother, Michael Hardiek.
