Obituary
Scott A. Herrmann, age 59, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Colton Clay officiating. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Scott's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com
Scott was born, July 23, 1958, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Carl Frederick and Lavonne Evelyn (Edwards) Herrmann. He was united in marriage to DeLois Gilkey on March 3, 2000, in Bloomington, Illinois.
Scott was employed at Bazooka Farmstar in Washington. He was a member of the First Christian Church, and he enjoyed fishing and spending time in his garden. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, DeLois Herrmann of Washington, IA; Daughter, Jessica Herrmann of Illinois; step sons Jonathan Gilkey of Chicago, IL; and Christopher Gilkey of St. Paul, MN; brother, Mark Herrmann of St. Louis, MO; mother-in-law, Sally Gilkey of Elgin, IL; and brother-in-law, Curtis Gilkey of Elgin, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
