Ruth Maxine Forinash Wells Owen, age 90, of rural Keota, Iowa died Tuesday, December 01, 2009 at the United Presbyterian Home following a short illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Marlene Janssen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm Friday. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Ruth was born May 3, 1919 in West Chester, Iowa the daughter of John Clell and Mary M. (Taff) Forinash. Ruth lived with and was later adopted by Marion and Margaret Wells. She attended New Haven grade school in Dutch Creek Township and graduated from West Chester High School. Ruth later attended Iowa State University. She was first married to Donald K. Sheetz. She was later married to M. John Owen.

Ruth was a homemaker and assisted with the family farm operation. She had previously owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Antiques during the 1960's and 1970's. She was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Adventures in Living Fortnightly Club, Log Cabin Questers, Southeast Iowa Button Club, National Button Society and the White Way Club.

She is survived by her husband John Owen of Keota, Iowa; daughter Sharon Hahn and husband Ed of Keota, Iowa; son Gary Sheetz and wife Kay of Washington, Iowa; step daughter Linda George of California, step son Paul Owen of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; step daughter Paulette Leslie of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren including Paula Celania and husband Joe of Lucas, Texas; Mark Hahn of Plano, Texas; Lonnie Hahn and wife Tabitha of Washington, Iowa; Sara Buchholtz and husband Kirk of Plainfield, Illinois; Lora Breitbach and husband John of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Brad Sheetz and wife Lynne of Washington, Iowa; 10 great grandchildren and a number of step great grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by one brother Cecil Lavone Forinash of Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Leo Villa Forinash and Duane Clell Forinash.
