Ruth E. Lamansky, age 85, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 05, 2012 at the Washington County Hospital after declining in health.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday afternoon. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the Alzheimer's Association. Ruth was born December 6, 1926, near Wellman, Iowa the daughter of George Milton and Eva D. (Ramsey) Smith. She attended school in Washington County Iowa and later graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy in 1956. Ruth was united in marriage to Dale Heyde on September 27, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1951. Ruth later married Ernest Lamansky on November 9, 1956. .

Ruth worked at the Washington County Hospital and later at the American Pearl Button Factory. She owned and operated her own Beauty Shop, "The Beauty Lounge", from 1956 until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at her cabin on the Iowa River. She enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her brother, Stanley Smith of Parker, Colorado; brother, Harold Smith of Murietta, California; sister, Shirley Barwick of Davenport, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale in 1951, husband Ernest in 1979, three brothers Donald, Charles, and Dale Smith as well as four sisters Norma Brinning, Donna Wilson, Evelyn Neff, and Aileen Shull.
