Ruth W. Enlow, 82, passed away peacefully at the Washington County Hospital on Tuesday February 20th, 2024. She was born February 17th, 1942, in Bloomfield, IA, the daughter of Gerald and Mildred (Osing) Grosvenor. She attended rural school in Bloomfield, Iowa and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1959. She later married Preston Enlow in 1960 in Missouri. She and Preston later divorced but remained close friends.
Ruth worked at Gold Coast Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada where she eventually retired due to a workplace injury in September 1992. After this she returned home to Iowa where she spent the majority of her time taking care of her grandchildren.
When she wasn't caring for her grandchildren, she enjoyed going to the casino, playing BINGO, and playing cards.
She is survived by her four children, Gerald D. Enlow (Carline), Harold E. Enlow, Gloria J. Kriegel, Preston L. Enlow; eleven grandchildren Allen (Amanda) Bestland, Brandy (Daniel) Bestland, Mike Romig, Gary Enlow, Preston Enlow, Whitney (Michael) Young, Alyssa (Joshua) Kensler, Joshua (Julie) Spears, Paige (Joseph) Karr, Andy (Laura) Enlow, Brittany (Michael) Enlow; nineteen great-grandchildren Kenzie Sanders, Isabella Osbourne, Willow Bestland, Taylan Enlow, Jerrick Enlow, Katrina Enlow, Roger Bird, Portland Bird, Joshua Spears Jr., Samantha Spears, Joseph Karr, Ely Karr, Olivia Karr, Hazel Karr, Stella Enlow, Jaxon Enlow, Macey Stoutner, Piper Stoutner, Parker Stoutner; four sisters, Pauline Osborn, Barbara Stellinga, Kathy Forsman, Rhonda (Larry) Richmond, and brother, Clifford (Connie) Grosvenor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Preston Enlow, great-granddaughter, Zoey Bestland, nephew, Charles Grosvenor, four brothers, Richard, Leonard, Paul, and John Grosvenor, and two sisters, Virginia Rysdam, Marsha Selck, and Son-in-law Willie Kriegel.
A celebration of life will be held at Washington County Fairgrounds-Dallmeyer Hall in Washington Iowa, Saturday February 24th, 2024. 611 Hwy 1 S, Washington IA, 52353. From the hours of 12:00-5:00. There will be a luncheon provided.
