Ross E. Coker, age 82, of Clarksville, Missouri, died Monday, May 8, 2023, at Parkview Manor in Wellman, Iowa.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for the family at www.jonesfh.com .

Ross was born June 30, 1940, the son of Joseph Milton and Helen L. (Horner) Coker. He attended school in Raytown, Missouri, graduating from Raytown High School. Ross later graduated from Central Missouri State University. He was employed by the North Kansas City School District for 25 years where he was a Science and Industrial Arts Teacher.

Ross lived most of his life in Clarksville, Independence and Lawson, Missouri, before recently moving to Iowa. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Connie) Coker of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Terri (Mitch) Coleman of Liberty, Missouri; five grandchildren: Landon Coker, Alex (Ashley) Coker, Garret (Tara) Coleman, Justin (Anne) Coleman, Megan (Nathan) Winfrey; as well as four great grandchildren, Scarlett and Charlee Coleman, and Everett and Sunny Winfrey.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Mary Jo Brown and Penne Bradshaw.
