Rosemary Nemmers, age 88, of Washington, Iowa died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Halcyon House in Washington following a short illness.

Rosemary was born July 9, 1924 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Harry Miller and Lillian Patricia (Newman) Ehred. She attended Carleton College in St. Olaf, Minnesota and then attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City. On August 30, 1945, Rosemary was united in marriage to Gerald Nemmers in Forest City, Iowa. She has resided in Washington since 1948 and has wintered in Ft. Myers, Florida since 1987.
Rosemary was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Washington. She was an active member of both the Washington Golf and Country Club and the Hideaway Country Club having won numerous club tournaments.
She is survived by four sons: Dr. Stephen Nemmers and wife Veronica of Milton, Massachussets; Mark Nemmers and wife LaVonne of Washington, Iowa; Todd Nemmers of Belle Plaine, Iowa; Matthew Nemmers and wife Gail of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; one daughter, Dedra Anderson and husband Merrill of Englewood, Colorado; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one sister, Eileen Goplerud of Iowa City, Iowa.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Ehred D.D.S and Lillian Ehred; husband, Dr. Gerald Nemmers in 2004; and one brother-in-law, Dr. C.P. "Pete" Goplerud.
