Rose Marie Jaquis, age 80, of Wellman, Iowa, died Monday, January 24, 2011, at the Parkview Manor in Wellman following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday January 28, 2011 at the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will gather and receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Grundy Center Cemetery in Grundy Center. Rose was born September 7, 1930 in Grundy Center, Iowa the daughter of Emery and Mabel (Hockey) Boren. She graduated from Grundy Center High School and received her nurse's certificate from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Rose worked as a registered nurse prior to her marriage and was a homemaker following her marriage. On March 15, 1958 she was united in marriage to John Raymond Jaquis. Her life revolved around her children, her Saviour and helping others. Rose was active in the Baptist church. She served as a missionary with her husband for many years.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Jane Knippenberg and husband John of Great Bend, Kansas; son, Bob Jaquis and wife Robin of Gilbert, Iowa; son, Tom Jaquis and wife Celeste of Robins, Iowa; son, Bill Jaquis of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Beth Leppert and husband Jeff of Richland, Iowa; daughter, Becki Schaefer and husband Matt of Omaha, Nebraska; thirteen grandchildren; sister, Pricilla Frier and husband Jim of Washington; and sister, Waneta Button and husband Dean of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
