Robert Eugene Williams, age 84, of Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at the United Church of Crawfordsville where the family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:30 Friday morning. Pastor Jason Collier will officiate. Interment with military honors will be held at the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Robert was born January 10, 1933 in Rural Crawfordsville, Iowa, the son of Howard Gale and Grace Elizabeth (Lyon) Williams. He graduated from Wyman High School. Robert was united in marriage to Katherine Marie Wait on December 24, 1959.

Robert farmed his entire life and received the Iowa Master Corn Growers Award for the highest yields. He served honorably in the United States Army in Germany for a year. For many years, Robert was the Elm Grove Comet 4H Leader and bowled on the Pioneer Seed Bowling Team. He was an avid race car fan and Chicago Bears fan and loved to attend his grandkids sporting events.

He is survived by his two sons: Steve Williams and wife Janice of Crawfordsville, IA and Gary Williams and wife Dana of West Burlington, IA; 4 grandchildren: Samantha Watson and husband Jared, Kristine Williams, Chase Williams and Cole Williams; sisters: Fern Bausch and husband Lester and Marjorie Williams; sisters-in-law: Cathy Williams, Mary Zanatta, Betty Unkrich and husband Merle and Denise Nichols; and brothers-in-law: Donald Wait, Ronald Wait and wife Shirley and Bill Wait and wife Marlene.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Harold Williams; brothers-in-law: Don Wehmeyer, Charlie Zanatta and Gary Hullinger; and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Wait and Lucy Hullinger.
