Obituary

Rhonda Lynn Redlinger, age 57, passed away March 26, 2026, at 10:39 a.m. surrounded by her family.

Rhonda was born on January 27, 1969, in Washington, Iowa to Duane and Mary Joan (Fields) Redlinger. She graduated from Washington High School in 1990.

Rhonda worked at Paws and More Animal Shelter, which was the perfect job for her since she loved cats. She attended the Washington County Developmental Center, where she had her nails painted every day. Rhonda participated in Special Olympics and competed in swimming and track. Rhonda enjoyed going to Camp Reece and Camp Courageous for many years. She would “Kiss the Moose” for receiving the most letters in a day. Rhonda was a member of St. James Church. She loved to go to plays, concerts and musicals. She didn’t miss a wedding, graduation or dance at the KC Hall!

Rhonda was a delightful girl who always had a smile on her face and greeted everyone she knew around the community, which was everyone!

Rhonda is survived by 4 sisters: Nancy (Frank) Rezabek of Columbia, MO; Marsha (Joe) Parker of Ottumwa, IA; Carol (Jeff) Hoyle of Washington, IA, and Franny (Kevin) Otte of Clive, IA; and nieces and nephews: Jason and Justin Nardy; Jennifer Johnson; Josh and Megan Hoyle; Grant, Ross and Kyle Otte.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Pat.

Thank you to the staff with Systems Unlimited for taking excellent care of Rhonda for 26 years. Also thank you to Washington County Hospice for their recent care of Rhonda.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Rhonda’s life will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at Tobin Hall of St. James Catholic Church in Washington. There will be a time of sharing at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Tobin Hall. Private family interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
