Obituary

Rhea C. Logan, age 81, of Washington died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following an extended illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 am Saturday June 5, 2010 at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Visitation will begin noon Friday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 Friday evening. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A memorial has been established for the elevator fund at United Methodist Church in Washington. Rhea was born on August 3, 1928 Washington, Iowa in the daughter of James and Doris (Ingle) Buck. She attended school in Washington, graduating in 1946. On February 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to John Allen Logan in Washington.

Rhea co-owned and operated Logan Jewelry in Washington, Iowa from 1964 to 1999. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington. Rhea enjoyed playing Bridge.

Rhea is survived by two sons, James Logan and wife Anna of Washington; Thomas Logan and wife Jean of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Heather Workman and husband James of Kansas City, Missouri; Lisa Vittetoe and husband Darrin of North Liberty, Iowa; Abigail Logan of Seattle, Washington; Grant Logan of Des Moines; and five great grandchildren, Alexa, Gabrielle and Eli Workman; and Logan and Taylor Vittetoe. Rhea is also survived by three sisters Fern Messer of Davenport, Iowa; Nyla Thrapp of Davenport, Iowa; and Clarice Deevers of Ottumwa, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 1988; two brothers, Claire Buck and Perry Reinier; paternal grandparents, Gottlieb and Grace (Brock) Buck; and her maternal grandparents, Maley and Amey (Wiseman) Ingle and special friend, Nolan Stogdill
