Randy Wayne Rhodes, age 55, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at the Hawkeye Motel in Washington following a short illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery at a later date. Randy was born February 2, 1961, in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Walter and Marilyn (McDole) Rhodes. He attended Highland Community Schools and graduated from Highland High School in 1979. Randy was married to Cathy Edgar in 1982.
Randy was a life resident of Washington County. He was an over the road truck driver and owned and operated his own semi and trailer for the past several years. He enjoyed talking with family and friends, telling stories and sharing jokes.
He is survived by his daughter, Mandy Farrier of Brighton, Iowa; dad, Walt Rhodes of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister, Julie Hoyle and special friend, Hank Townsend of Ainsworth, Iowa; brother, Darren Rhodes of Winfield, Iowa; nephew, Jake Bauer and wife Camarie of Washington, Iowa; niece, Courtney Hoyle of Ainsworth, Iowa; great nieces Jade and Kadie Bauer as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Randy was preceded in death by his mom, Marilyn Rhodes in 1996; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
