Randall Harold “Randy” Wehr, age 71, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Dane Dickinson officiating. Calling hours will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday at St. James Catholic Church with a prayer service beginning at 4:30 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place at the Schrock Cemetery in rural Washington County. Memorials have been established for St James Catholic School or Hospice of Washington County End of Life Hospice Home. Online condolences may be sent for Randy’s family at www.jonesfh.com.
Randy was born on February 16, 1955, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Harold Joseph and Marjorie Louise (Fritz) Wehr. He attended school in Washington, Iowa, graduating from high school in 1973. Randy was united in marriage to Jean Marie on October 25, 1975, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington.
Randy was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Randy was a farmer and worked at Syngenta Seeds for 42 years until his retirement in 2018. Randy was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being in nature, raising and working with sheep, and his Australian Shepherds.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Wehr of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Nicole (Pat) Stoutner of Brighton, Iowa; daughter, Erin (Andrew) McGuire of Keota, Iowa; six grandchildren: Charley and Nora Stoutner; and Aiden, Brennan, Tate and Tenley McGuire; as well as two brothers, Ron (Carol) Wehr of West Chester, Iowa; and Gary (Joan) Wehr of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Joyce Marie of Washington, Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Joe Marie of Washington, Iowa; and Don (Jackie) Marie of Washington, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Linda (Randy) Finke of Crawfordsville, Iowa, Marsha (Ken) Long of Danville, Iowa; Peggy (Gary) Roberts of Brighton, Iowa; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, Rickey Wehr; father-in-law, Bob Marie; and sister-in-law, Linda Marie.
