Phyllis Widmer Headrick, age 88, of Polk City, Iowa, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Phyllis donated her body to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. Celebration of life services will be held at Washington Mennonite Church on Saturday, July 20th at 11 a.m. The family will be present to receive friends following the service. Phyllis was born September 23, 1935, in Anthony, Kansas, the daughter of David and Faye (Boyts) Yoder. She attended school in Kansas where she graduated from high school. Phyllis was united in marriage to Willard Widmer on December 15, 1955. Following the death of Willard, Phyllis married Donald Headrick on August 20,2005.
Phyllis cleaned houses for individuals and businesses in the Washington area for many years. She was a founding member of Eureka Mennonite Church, which later became Washington Mennonite Church. Phyllis was an active member in her church community.
She is survived by daughter, Tamera (Jerre) Erb of Polk City, Iowa; daughter, Teresa Widmer of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step- children: Jeff (Nancy) Headrick of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Sheila (Dave) Landis of Americus, Georgia; Lisa (Anthony) Boll of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and seven step- grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Willard and Donald.
