Phil E. Stout, age 53, of Ainsworth, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by family and friends after a four-week battle with injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Phil was born June 17, 1962 in Washington County, Iowa, the son of William and Dorothy (Wulf) Stout. He graduated from Highland High School in 1980. Phil was united in marriage to Kim Tappan in 1983 and they had two daughters. He later married Dawn Meyer. They divorced in 2014.
Phil was a lifelong trucker and also worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church and past president of the Ainsworth Lions Club. Phil was an avid Cubs, Redskins and Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed gardening and loved to ride his motorcycle. Phil's greatest love was his two daughters. They were his pride and joy and he loved spending time with them and attending their many events.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Stout of Mason City, IA; daughter, Joshalyn Stout of Rock Rapids, IA; parents, William and Dorothy Stout of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister, Delores Hansen of Washington, IA; sister, Janene Kirk of Ainsworth, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother, Keith Stout in 2002; two aunts and two uncles.
