Pearl I. Tucker, age 97, of Washington, Iowa died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the M.L. McCreedy Home following a lengthy illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 am Thursday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm Wednesday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 Thursday morning at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County or the First Baptist Church. Pearl was born March 26, 1913 in Grace Hill, Iowa the daughter of Robert Lee and Addie Belle (Coates) Blick. She attended school in Washington, Iowa. On October 16, 1928 Pearl was united in marriage to Clyde M. Tucker in Memphis, Missouri. Following her husband's death in 1990, Pearl moved to Oklahoma to be near her daughter. She moved back to Washington in 2002.
Pearl worked at the Button Factory for 25 years. She also worked as a nurse's aide, and in laundry and dietary at Halcyon House retiring in 1993. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. Pearl loved playing cards and fishing.
She is survived by one daughter, Bea Goodall and husband Richard of Washington, Iowa; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Martha Miller of Gnadenhutten, Ohio; and Viola West of Washington, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1990; and her siblings, Gertrude Norton, Edgar Blick, Eva Blick, Leonard Blick, Ralph Blick; and Violet Shalla.
