Patrick J. Whittaker age 68, of Phoenix Arizona, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Friday November 26, 2021, of a sudden illness.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Elm Grove Cemetery. Following services the family will host a gathering to celebrate Pat's life at Sunset Park in the pavilion by the rocket slide. Memorials have been established to the Golf for Injured Veterans Everywhere foundation (GIVE). The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Pat was born on December 11, 1952, in Washington Iowa the son of John and Myrna (Plavets)Whittaker. He graduated from Washington High School in 1971.
After high school Pat joined the United States Navy where he served honorably for 4 years.
Pat spent most of his adult life in Phoenix Arizona working as a green's keeper. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and loved spending time with his granddaughters.
Pat is survived by his son Jason, daughter in-law Minerva, granddaughters Penelope and Miranda of Yuma, Arizona. Brother Mike, sisters Annette (Whittaker) Fritz and Mary all of Washington Iowa and brother David of Cookeville, Tennessee. Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Pat is proceeded in death by his parents and brother in-law Bob Fritz.
