Patricia Claire "Pat" Minneman, age 101, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. Pat was born on January 22, 1924, in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Mae (Luse) Morlan. She attended high school in Mystic and graduated from Centerville Junior College. On January 8, 1947, Pat was united in marriage to James Harris. She was later married to Dr. John Minneman on February 6, 1977.
Pat taught school in Mystic for three years. In 1955, Pat moved to Washington to raise her family. She later worked at Livingston-Day Law Office. A devoted member of the United Methodist Church since 1955, Pat was active in the Methodist Women group for over 60 years. She was also a member of Chapter D.L. of TTT. Pat helped with the Washington swim team for many years and volunteered at the Washington County Health Center gift shop. She enjoyed playing bridge until age 101. Pat loved God, her family, and her friends.
She is survived by her son, John Boan (Peg) Harris of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Jennifer Ann (David) Sojka of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Dr. Ann Harris of Washington, Iowa; along with seven grandchildren: Chris (Jessica) Harris of Coralville, Iowa; Carrie (Brian) Lueck of Wellman, Iowa; James D. Harris of Wichita, Kansas; Dr. Mary Beth (Michael) Harris of Wichita, Kansas; Patrick (Allie) Sojka of Champaign, Illinois; Abby (Tony) Kestas of Swisher, Iowa; and Joseph (Courtney) Harris of Derby, Kansas; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband, John Minneman, four stepchildren, and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, James Harris; infant daughter, Candace Beth Harris; son, Dr. James Harris; sisters, Helen Morlan and Dorothy Rude; and brother-in-law, Gilbert Rude.
