Patricia Ann "Pat" Coon, age 85, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. Pat was born July 29, 1934, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of John and Iona June (Willis) Pehler. She graduated from Washington High School. She was united in marriage to Murray L. Coon on July 5, 1954, in Washington, Iowa.

Pat worked as a grocery clerk at Fareway for 42 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and White Shrine. Pat enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She made many quilts and blankets for Fareway customers who were expecting a child.

Pat is survived by one daughter, Jan Johnson and husband James of Pinon Hills, CA; two grandchildren: Jeremiah Johnson and wife Shelly of Sierra Vista, AZ; and Jessica Richards and husband Johnny of Ft. Bragg, N.C; one great-grandchild, Gabriel Richards; and her sister, Nancy McClain of Washington, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2018; and one son, Steven Michael Coon.
