Melvin Richard “Dickie” Miller, age 60, of Wellman, Iowa, died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Washington Mennonite Church, with Pastor Nick Stoddard officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in rural Harper, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Dickie was born on May 4, 1966, in Iowa, the son of Ezra Jay and Mattie L. (Yoder) Miller. He attended Maple Grove School in rural Kalona. On September 13, 1999, Dickie married Alicia Seaba.

Dickie grew up in Johnson County and spent most of his adult life in Washington County. He worked as a garbage collector for Hoppy Kinsinger for many years. Dickie was a faithful member of the Washington Mennonite Church. He enjoyed fishing, working with wood, participating in tractor pulls, and junking. He also loved working on cars and doing metal work. Above all, he cherished spending time with his kids and church family.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia Miller of Kalona, Iowa; daughter, Matti Miller of Kalona, Iowa; son, Jonathon Miller of Kalona, Iowa; sister, Rosetta Miller of Kalona, Iowa; and parents-in-laws, Betty and Stan Seaba. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Mattie Miller.
