Mary was born March 25, 1957, in Mountain View, Missouri, the daughter of George Leroy and Doris Lavele (Akey) Eslinger. She attended school in Memphis, Missouri, graduating from Scotland County School. Mary was very happily married to Charles Dale Woods on June 24, 2000. An extraordinary love that most people dream of and many are jealous of.
Mary was employed at the Keokuk County Veterinarian Clinic for 24 years, retiring in 2023. She was currently employed at Federation Bank in Richland, Iowa.
Mary was a very kind soul with a heart of gold. If you knew her, you were family and treated as such. She would welcome you with open arms and you always felt loved by her. She had a beautiful smile that warmed you and made you feel good to be around her.
She loved her family more than anything, along with her many "adopted" family members. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping (especially with her grandkids), and on beautiful or even on rainy days, you would find her in the wind on the trike behind her beloved. She loved the many motorcycle trips or even short ones. Anytime she had a chance she was enjoying the wind in her hair.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Dale, of Richland, Iowa; daughters, Tanya (Brandon Bachman) Hesseltine of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Yolanda Campbell of Harper, Iowa; brothers, George (Joy) Eslinger of Marengo, Iowa; Henry (Stephanie) Eslinger of Ashland, Missouri; Jeannie (Clinton) Forquer of Farmington, Iowa; and Louie (Ginger) Eslinger of Gillette, Wyoming; step brother, Michael (Becky) McAfee of Mountain view, Missouri; step daughters, Joy (Josh) Munn of Kirksville, Missouri; Tabitha (Jason) Killian of Osage Beach, Missouri; Brandi (Cory) Eslinger of LaPlata, Missouri; Chelsey (Thomas) Morrill of Huntsville, Missouri; grandchildren: Kylea (Jay) Ingle-Malloy; Katie (Cody) Van Amerongen; Anthony (Teale) Campbell; Aubrey (Derek) Campbell; Adreanna Campbell; Atalie Hagan; Ava Hagan; Ace Killian; Eli Killian; Robet Brown; Kristy Morrill; Kaleb Morrill; Tommy Morrill; and great grandchildren: Hadley and Carson Van Amerongen; Octavia Hagan; Summit Horn; as well as many "adopted" children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, nephew, Jeremy Forquer, and granddaughter, Alexia Scott.
