Obituary
Mary R. Wagamon, age 93, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at the United Presbyterian Home.

Mary was born February 26, 1927 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of William Clay and Nellie (Smith) Richards. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with her Bachelor's Degree. She attended the University of Iowa. Mary was united in marriage to William W. Wagamon Jr. on September 4, 1948 in Washington.
Mary was a teacher for 36 years, teaching for the Mid-Prairie School District. She previously taught at the Washington Junior High School. Mary also assisted her husband in the farming operation near Wellman, Iowa. Mary was a member of the Iowa State Education Association, the National Education Association, Order of the Eastern Star where she was Past Matron, ALC, WQB, Past Presidents of Delta Kappa Gamma – Alpha Chi Chapter, and was an Honorary Life Member of AAUW.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Carlson and husband Stephen of Crossville, TN; grandson, Brent Carlson and wife Lauren of St. Charles, IL; brother, Dale Richards and wife Louise of Washington, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
