Marjorie Ann Neil, age 89, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Washington, Iowa.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Scott Township Cemetery in rural Winfield, Iowa, at a later date. Online condolences may be sent for Marjorie’s family at www.jonesfh.com

Marjorie was born on November 26, 1936, in Ft. Collins, Colorado, the daughter of Willard E. and Vera Lucille (Gibbs) Poore. Following high school, Marjorie attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, for two years. She was united in marriage to Kendall E. Neil on October 12, 1957, in Mt. Union, Iowa.

Marjorie and Kendall have lived in Washington, Iowa, since 1969. She was a homemaker and was proud to have raised her family. Marjorie was very instrumental in the Washington County Genealogical Society for over 30 years and received the Governor’s Award for her genealogy work. She was an avid quilter and seamstress.

She is survived by her son, Craig (Hazel) Neil of Osceola, Iowa; son, Keith Neil of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Bradley (Hardeav) Neil of Troy, Michigan; son, Scott (Alice Stoner) Neil of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Kathy (Don) Brookhart of Wayland, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Eric Neil, Tiffany Neil, Zach Neil, Sara Frazier, Colin Neil, Megan Twine, Evan Neil, Cody Neil, Ashley Peterson, and Justin Allison; 16 great grandchildren; and one brother, Denis Aldridge of California.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kendall in 2022; granddaughter, Elizabeth Neil; and brother, Donald Poore.
