Obituary

Marjorie L. Farris, age 76, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, January 01, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a brief illness.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday January 4, 2011 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will gather and receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday January 5, 2011 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Marge was born February 1, 1934 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of John Kerr and Clara Blanche (Huffman) Sowash. She attended school in Washington, Iowa. On September 24, 1983 she was united in marriage to Gerald C. Farris in Madisonville, Kentucky. She was previously married to Russell E. Taylor and Edwin G. Macrander. She was a homemaker. Marge enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino and bowling.

Marge is survived by her son, Mitchell Macrander of Wausau, Wisconsin; son, Tim Macrander and wife Chris Maas of Coralville, Iowa; daughter, Cindy (Taylor) Juhl of Iowa City, Iowa; step daughter, Paula McConnell and husband Ed of Washington, Iowa; step son, Chris Farris and wife Kim of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald in 2000; one brother, Ronald Sowash and four sisters, Vera Glider, Dorothy Jackson, Lillie Duncan and Virginia Davison.
