Marilyn Marcella Sharpe, age 73, of Keota, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Deacon Derick Cranston officiating. Calling hours will begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Marilyn was born January 30, 1944, in St. Helens, Oregon. Marilyn attended school in Davenport, Iowa, and graduated from Fr. Ryan's Catholic School in Davenport, Iowa. She worked for Pain Management Group in Nashville, Tennessee for many years. Marilyn moved to Keota, Iowa, in 2007, to be close to her family.

She was an active member of the Catholic Church and was an avid reader. Marilyn loved spending time with her family. She volunteered at All American Care in Washington, Iowa, for many years. Marilyn religiously watched NASCAR and was an avid collector of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. items. She was a Tennessee Titans football fan and was a member of the Association of Ladies of Charity in Nashville, Tennessee.

Marilyn is survived by one daughter, Crystal Herbert and husband Hank Tusing of Keota, Iowa; and three grandchildren: Brandy, Jade and Hank Tusing; seven great-grandchildren; the Musgrove family; and her faithful canine companion, Beau Sharpe.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marcella Ramburg; one son, Todd Herbert; one great-granddaughter, Addalynn; and her dog, Max Sharpe.
