Granny was born in Riverside, Iowa on July 10th, 1915, the daughter of Edward & Sophia (Schnoeblen) Kueneman. Marie and George were married on October 23rd, 1935, along with her sister, Gladys (Kueneman) and George's brother, Arthur Hora. Granny attended school in Riverside until 8th grade, and then worked on the family farm. After getting married, she worked on the farm with George while also raising their family. There was nothing Granny loved more than attending the sporting events, 4-H, and school activities of her grandkids and great-grandkids. She also loved being outside, especially when she could work in her garden or mow the lawn. Granny was involved in 4-H for over 60 years, first as a member, then as a volunteer being both a leader and the Photography superintendent, where she helped countless youth mount photos. She was inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame in 2008. Granny was an avid bowler for over 55 years, attending many city, state, and national bowling tournaments. She was also an active member of St. James Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, Fleur de Lis Club, the Republican Women, Farm Bureau Women's Committee, and the Washington County Porkettes. Granny played Pinochle for many years. She also supported the KC softball team by attending numerous tournaments. Granny was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, watching every game she could. Whenever possible, Granny enjoyed drinking a Screwdriver or a cold Miller Lite with an olive.

Surviving are three children, Keith Hora and wife LoRee; Kathy Ebert and husband Bill, and Kevin Hora, all of Washington, Iowa; ten grandchildren, Gregg (Liddy), Brian (Theresa), Dana Wenstrand (Pete), Kurt (Heather), Darren (Tammy), Heidi Boever (Todd), Jodi Ebert, Cody Smith (Amanda), Sarah, and Caleb; sixteen great grandchildren, Lindsay, Dan, Joe, Clayton, Mitchell, Rachel, Madeline, Kaitlin, Olivia, Emily, David, Aiden, Alexa, Presley, Elizabeth, and John; and one brother, Gilbert Kueneman of Mt.
