Margarette Johnson, 75, of Bettendorf, IA passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 12 P.M. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport, IA with visitation 4-7 P.M. Sunday, November 26, 2017.

A second visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, IA. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Margarette was born November 12, 1942 in Washington, IA, the daughter of Richard and Lena Pratt. She was united in marriage to Steve Johnson on June 13, 1964.

Margarette graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1963 as a Registered Nurse. She left nursing to raise her family, but returned to her profession working first as a Director of Nursing at Bettendorf Healthcare and then as a consultant for Main and Locust Pharmacy for over 18 years.

Margarette was a loving and compassionate person whose smile lit up a room. She enjoyed socializing with friends and loved to play bridge. A gifted designer, she decorated her home with beautiful things and helped her family with theirs too. She especially enjoyed making her own greeting cards and sharing them with friends and family. She was an excellent cook and her homemade pizza was the highlight of many family gatherings.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; sons, Christopher (Megan), Jay (Kathryn) and Robb (Amy); sisters, Cathy and Carolyn; and eight grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.
