Margaret Ellen Wagner, age 94, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday March 3, 2018, at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Kwang Song officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Friday, March 9th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Margaret was born October 11, 1923, in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Mary Ellen (Wallace) Lemley. She attended school in Washington, Iowa. Margaret was united in marriage to Roy Omer Wagner on February 15, 1941.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and lived in her house on East Washington Street for sixty years. She enjoyed living there tending to her garden and many collectibles. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and enjoyed participating in many activities at the church.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ellen Wilkinson and husband Roy of Atlanta, GA; son, Ron Wagner of Washington, IA; daughter, M.J. Goff and husband Maynard Goff III of Prescott, AZ; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Mille and husband Merv of Winnebago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; and two sisters, June Swartzendruber and Mabel Dvorak.
