Margaret I. Olsen, age 93, of Washington, Iowa died Friday, September 17, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital following a sudden illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 pm. Tuesday, September 21st at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with services conducted by Larry Fletcher. Visitation will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m until 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the West Branch Cemetery in West Branch, Iowa. Margaret was born September 15, 1917 in Muscatine County, Iowa the daughter of David Lloyd and Mary Clara (Jacobs) Stuart. She graduated from St. Matthias High School in Muscatine, Iowa. On May 6, 1940, Margaret was united in marriage to Theodore Olsen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Margaret lived most of her married life in West Branch, Iowa, prior to moving to Urbandale and later to Washington, Iowa in 1997. She was a homemaker and also worked for the HJ Heinz Company in Muscatine and for the University of Iowa. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son Tom Olsen of Polk City, Iowa; one daughter Patricia Miller and husband Gene of Crawfordsville, Iowa; grandson Lance Miller of Crawfordsville, Iowa; and granddaughter Lindsey Miller of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1996, five brothers Joseph Lloyd, David Ronald, John Robert, Lloyd Francis and Marion Elwood Stuart as well as one sister Mary Naomi Jensen.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her great sense of humor and contagious laugh.
