Obituary

Margaret Ellen Campbell, age 101, of Washington, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Celebration of life services and interment at Forbes Cemetery in Keosauqua, Iowa will be held at a later date. Margaret was born on January 29, 1917 in Mt. Zion, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Alexander and Florence (Bauman) Campbell. She attended Mt. Zion Country School and graduated from Keosauqua High School. Margaret went on to graduate from Parsons College and received her Certificate of Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa. She worked as a physical therapist in various states including Illinois, Utah, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Iowa until her retirement in 1981. She also taught in the Iowa Public High Schools for six years.

Margaret was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and of P.E.O. She traveled extensively and was a very active member of the American Physical Therapy Association Iowa Chapter and of the National Physical Therapy Association. She was the recipient of the Olive Farr Award for her distinguished service to the association and also received the Muscular Dystrophy Award.

She is survived by seven nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and by her very special Iowa City family, the Driscolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Charles R. Campbell, Mona M. Emmert, Daniel B. Campbell, Sr., and Ruth B. Arnold; and one nephew.
