Lois Virginia (Washam) O'Hanlon, age 94, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at the St. Alponsus Cemetery in Silex, Missouri. Due to federal guidance on gatherings due to the Covid 19 pandemic, a public memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established for the M.L. McCreedy Home. Lois was born September 25, 1925, in Arkansas, the daughter of Dee and Ann (Arnold) Washam. She was united in marriage to Dudley J. O'Hanlon on March 12, 1944, in Delhart, Texas.
She and Dudley moved to Washington in 1964. Lois was a homemaker and worked at the Hy-Vee Food Store in Washington. Lois was a member of St. James Catholic Church and in her earlier years she enjoyed swimming at the Washington Community Y, playing cards - especially Bridge, and golfing.
Lois is survived by five children: Pat O'Hanlon and wife JoAnn of Arizona; Terry O'Hanlon of Ft. Worth, Texas; Chris O'Hanlon of Washington, Iowa; Ellen Courtney of Lewisville, Texas; Sean O'Hanlon of Coralville, Iowa; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; son-in-law, John Courtney in 2003; and siblings, D.J. Washam, Betty Jones, James Washam and Herbert Washam.
