Lois Rae Drayfahl, age 75, of Ainsworth, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, following a courageous battle with Parkinsons.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin noon Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. Lois was born September 14, 1941, in Lamoni, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Helen (Rockhold) Dickerson. She attended school in Washington. Lois was united in marriage to Jim Drayfahl on August 10, 1958 in Washington, Iowa.
Lois was a homemaker and worked for a short time at the Washington County Hospital. She enjoyed watching birds, mowing her yard and was an avid NASCAR and Chicago Cubs fan. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Drayfahl of Ainsworth, IA; daughter, Deb Roth and husband Rudy of Wayland, IA; son, Jimmy Drayfahl of Corpus Christi, TX; son, Ron Drayfahl of Ainsworth, IA; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Bill Kindred and wife Judy of Marquette, IA; Norma Stutzman of Willard, MO; Kate Ahrens of Quincy, IL; Jean Black of Washington, IA; Maggie Elliott and husband Bob of Iowa City, IA; Gary Dickerson of Denver, CO; and Mike Dickerson of Muscatine, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Carl Kindred; and sister, Ruby Liechty.
