Obituary

Linda Lee Marie, age 66, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

A time to celebrate the life of Linda will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19th at Unc and Nephs in Washington. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Morale Committee, which provides gifts for children in need. Linda was born on June 20, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Reid D. and Katherine L. (Weeks) Orris. She graduated from Washington High School in 1976. On April 29, 1978, Linda married Joe Marie in Washington, Iowa.

Throughout her life, Linda worked as a bookkeeper for various local businesses in Washington. She owned and operated Personal Sunshine, and most recently ran her own custom embroidery business. Linda enjoyed watching NASCAR, loved traveling, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Joe, of Washington, Iowa; three children: daughter, Jill Zahs and her husband Ben of Washington, Iowa; son, Jeff Marie and his fiancée Jamie of Olds, Iowa; and daughter Shelby Welker and her husband Scooter of Jackson, Missouri; four grandchildren: Emma Zahs, Lucas Zahs, Cooper Zahs, and Reid Welker; sister, Cathy Pacha and her husband Mike of Libertyville, Iowa; brother, Tim Orris and his wife Debbie of Tiffin, Iowa; and three nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kate in 1999 and Reid in 2022.
