Obituary

Linda L. Bean, age 74, of Wayland, Iowa, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at her residence following a short battle with cancer.

Linda was born December, 5, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. Merrill DDS and Anne (Moran) Shutt. She graduated from Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Iowa. Linda later attended school in Minneapolis, Minnesota to become a lab and x-ray technician. She was united in marriage to Ed Bean on October 19, 1958, in Red Oak, Iowa.

Along with her husband Ed, Linda owned and operated Bean's Pharmacy in Washington from 1976 until 1998. Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband, photographing and talking to the people of the countries they visited. She spent her retirement years enjoying conversations and humor with friends and family. Linda also enjoyed watching and identifying the various birds that appeared on her deck and eating cookies with her dog, Peanut. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband Ed Bean of Wayland, Iowa; daughter, Andrea Dresmann and husband Bob of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Meredith Vileta and husband Travis of Toddville, Iowa; son Aaron Bean of Washington, Iowa; four grandchildren: Samantha, Drew and Max Dresmann; and Kira Ropp; as well as one brother, Rodney Shutt and wife Phyllis of Des Moines, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dr.Merrill Shutt MD.
