Lillian Marie (Wolf) Statler, 87, of Washington died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Halcyon House in Washington.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Visitation will begin 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Lillian was born September 2, 1923 in Lockridge, Iowa to Jacob J. and Hedvig C. (Carlson) Wolf. She graduated from Lockridge High School in 1941. Lillian married Shirley S. Statler on January 6, 1944 in Libertyville, Iowa.
She worked at Burlington Ordinance plant during the war years, Shaefer Pen Company in Mt. Pleasant, Carle Memorial Hospital in Urbana, Illinois and Kalona Savings Bank for 19 years.
Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors, sewing, house plants and garden flowers.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Shirleen and husband John Huber of Wellman; Christine Statler of Monroe, Wisconsin; grandsons, Joel Huber and wife Laura of Wellman; Jacob Huber and wife Courtney of Dewitt; granddaughter, Jolisa and husband Derek Bombei of Wellman; four great grandchildren, Alexa and Callie Huber and Tate and Tessa Bombei; and her nieces, Gloria Zager of Knoxville and Angela Peiffer of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2007; two brothers, Raymond and Jacob; and her sister, Mabel Hayward.
